Craig Van Slyke; college professor, rancher and host of the Rational Ignorance podcast is this week’s guest and he joins us to talk about his podcast, the value of stoicism, the difficulties he’s experienced in life & how he got through them (with many personal & honest examples) as well as many more topics.
In more detail, Craig starts by talking about how he first heard a podcast, why he started his show and what it’s about, before delving into the mindset of Craig & Mike’s younger selves when they were “dickish” by valuing being right over personal relationships, which leads onto Craig then explaining what stoicism is and he opens up about past hardships in his life and how his mindset helped him get through them, which has in turn made him a better person, plus other topics are discussed in this powerful & vulnerable conversation.
Books Craig mentioned;
Seneca: Letters From A Stoic – Epicteetus: The Art Of Living - William Irvine: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy
