Frank returns for his fifth GCC appearance, to talk about writing a book during, that is also set in, the UK COVID lockdown, plus alternate versions of celebrities, the Ragbag world and answering the question; What Is Brollywood?
This week, in part 2, the duo discuss celebrities appearing in Brollywood in more depth, including Benedict Cumberbatch & “famous-man-who-cannot-be-named-for-legal-reasons, with Frank explaining how he wrote them in the way that he did and why. Frank & Mike then go on a tangent about the footnotes section of the audiobook of Brollywood which includes people who leave reviews for service stations, celebrities starting podcasts, becoming famous, Frank’s future projects and so much more!
Last week was part 1 of Frank & Mike’s conversation where their conversation starts by discussing Frank’s 4-part podcast series called Not On Top with David Ivar of the band Herman Dune, before delving into the meta subject of being interviewed as an author, before explaining the premise of his latest book Brollywood and talking about writing a book during COVID that is also set in the UK at a time of the lockdown restrictions. Painter, illustrator, comic book artist & expressionist Elise McCall is our returning guest this week, talking about her creative process, inspiration, her many different pieces of art and so much more!
This week is part 2 where Mike & Elise delve deeper into Elise’s artwork shown on her website, including some specific pieces of artwork and how the times in Elise’s life have affected the art she creates, along with Mike’s interpretations of them. The duo then delve into the difference of being a human and being a person; intertwining life with nature, how sexuality is present in Elise’s artwork, what artwork isn’t on her website and why. They also discuss putting work out into the world, podcasts during COVID and the pros & cons of being a generalist.

It’s time for another Star Wars conversation and this week brings Ike’s Flame talking about what Star Wars means to him, the many TV series, how spirituality & religion connect with Star Wars and so much more!
This week is part 1 of Mike & Ike’s conversation (part 2 will be out next week but is already available for all Patreon supporters), Ike starts by saying why he created his podcast and what Star Wars means to his family, their conversation then turns to video games, before discussing The Clone Wars & Ahsoka. Their attention soon turns to the live-action series and Andor (no spoilers for Andor within) and the duo also discuss Visions! Ike then talks about his favourite non-Star-Wars fandoms (Marvel & LOTR), their favourite SW era and more!
Next week for part 2, the duo’s discussion continues with Ike’s rankings of the 3 Sequel Trilogy movies and they discuss some of the issues with the 3 movies, the briefly talk about Star Wars: Resistance before delving into Ike’s favourite books including the Thrawn & Queen’s trilogies, before delving into some of Mike’s comic recommendations and Ike then explains how Star Wars connects to his Christianity while also allowing him to escape into the galaxy far, far away!

Two of the creative minds behind the REBURN comic are on this week’s episode of GCC; creator/writer Alyson Shelton and artist Elise McCall!
In more detail, the conversation begins with Alyson confirming why she made the comic Reburn and how Elise became involved, which leads onto how the two figured out how the many characters would look, they then mention some easter eggs within the pages of the comics and how certain iconic scenes came together between Elise & Alyson. Alyson then explains what elements of the original Reburn screenplay were included in the comics and why elements were omitted, they also discuss the importance of Elise’s artwork and the importance of facial expressions, and so much more – definitely a conversation for art/comic lovers and prospective future collaborators!
