This week brings part 2 of Mike’s chat with Calum Stone – vocalist & frontman of the UK metalcore band Placeholder!
In this part, Mike & Calum discuss self-promoting on social media, Placeholder’s three new music videos & their meaning along with the theme of their newest release ‘Despise Me’, they then speak about misheard song lyrics, some of the negative & positive feedback Calum has received on various social media platforms, how he deals with it and that neither Calum or Mike comment on many things (especially on YouTube), how Calum got Kadeem France (of Loathe) to guest on Placeholder’s newest single, Calum’s dream collaboration and much more!

This week is something a little bit different – as I (Mike) am going to Mexico for 10 days, I wanted to take a break from podcasting so I wouldn’t have to work while away and to ensure I don’t rush any upcoming episodes.
In this episode, I just basically just ramble on for 40 minutes, talking about my trip to Mexico, some of the ins & outs of my podcasting schedule and why I’ve decided to take a break, the episodes to expect once I return, a review of the new Lion King, me guesting on a future episode of The Brave Files, some of the previous episodes I recommend checking out if you’re new to the show, what can be expected from following Genuine Chit-Chat on the usual social media channels and other stuff!
To be clear to any first-time listeners, this is more of a bonus episode to explain to anyone not following on social media that I’ll be away for 2 weeks, why that is and what you can expect going forward, so I’ll speak with you all on Sunday 25th!

In their chat, they discuss Amanda’s newest book, First Charge as well as Amanda’s other works, when & why she started writing, why she used the pseudonym “Aleesha Black” for her Lost & Found books, one of the worst dates Amanda has been on and using it as inspiration for “Love, Dates & Other Nightmares”, before talking about what Amanda’s publication “Printed Words” entails, how she gets her writing done. This week brings part 2 of Mike’s chat with Gough of Beernuts Productions for a chat that is not only inspiring, but funny too! Gough is the first legally blind person to write, produce, direct, edit and act in a feature-length film (plus many other releases) and currently creates comedy films with his company Beernuts Productions!
In this chat Mike & Gough discuss Gough potentially making a sequel to his documentary “I Will Not Go Quietly”, some of Gough’s favourite music, TV shows & podcasts, how Gough met his friend Simon who has helped with all of the recent Beernuts releases, some of the social issues Gough likes to explore in his comedy, how Gough dislikes people telling him and anyone else how to live their life, some of the ways Gough has been discriminated against, the importance of humour in all walks of life, how people should follow their dreams, Gough’s view on the existence of aliens and much more!

This week is perfect for anyone interested in South America, especially Ecuador, Peru and the Galapagos Islands as Mike speaks with Marcel Perkins, an entrepreneur, the founder of Latin Trails and a man truly passionate about some of the things South America has to offer to people from all walks of life!
In their chat, Mike & Marcel start off by discussing what Marcel’s company Latin Trails has to offer anyone wanting an immersive experience in South America, before discussing some of Marcel’s passions, including nature & historical travel, along with some of the animals one could encounter while in the Galapagos Islands (including penguins, water lizards, tortoises and more), followed by discussing the current & previous cultures found in South America including the Incas & Machu Picchu. After this they talk about some of the delicacies found in South America including a meal consisting of tree worms and the speciality of Ecuadorian chocolate, followed by some of the more indigenous people’s traditions, such as drinking ayahuasca as well as talking about activities Latin Trails offer like biking down a volcano, horse-riding and more!
