This week brings the return of Josh & Rhys and this time it’s a chat for the video gamers among you!
In part 1 of their chat, they discuss a few random topics for the first few minutes before having a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about games such as Crash Bandicoot, Halo, Jak & Daxter, Devil May Cry & more – they then discuss cheat codes & Easter eggs and how they used to come in books with gaming magazines, rather than just online like nowadays.
Following this, they delve into the world of Steam’s game curation, which steadily turns into a discussion surrounding loot boxes & micro-transactions, they also *briefly*discuss Bitcoin & mining for cryptocurrencies, before delving into why Mike is such a let-down for pre-ordering Star Wars Battlefront 2.
In part 2 (released next week), the chat continues on why Star Wars Battlefront 2 was such a disgrace to the gaming industry/community and how loot boxes, pre-orders, season passes & micro-transactions are so dangerous for the industry as a whole.
After discussing this and including names such as EA & Ubisoft, they discuss the various “special editions” of games that come out, they then speak about Visceral’s death as a company & the Dead Space trilogy, followed by how game publishers treat the creative teams behind such games, before finishing off by speaking about the James Gunn controversy (Guardians Of The Galaxy director), how political correctness effects games including “self-aware” games like Doki Doki Literature Club, “boob-physics” and women in the gaming industry (including a discussion about Bayonetta & the sexuality of her character) – so be sure to stay tuned for that addition!
Last week Mike spoke with Steve, a homosexual friend of his about his coming out story, what it was like growing up gay in the 1980s, Polari the “secret gay language”, transgender people in sports, the LGBTQ+ community as a whole, the “gay agenda” and so much more, so be sure to check that out too!
The guests Josh & Rhys have been in a few other podcasts, they were both in a discussion about transgender identity in politics (episode 14 “Just Don’t Be A Dick”), Rhys featured in the first ever episode too, about if it’s ever okay to “punch a nazi” and Josh has featured in several others, including being the co-host of the “Science, But Simple” mini-series on GCC too!

This week Mike continues his chat with his friend Steve Maidment, a homosexual man who opens up about his life, how the world has been changing and his opinions on the LGBTQ+ community!
In this week’s release, Steve & Mike discuss whether someone is born gay or if there are other factors that can dictate sexuality, as well as discussing “Polari” – the “gay language” used when homosexuality was illegal, as well as Steve’s youth work with Breakout & City Reach. They then go off on a tangent about names and whether or not they’d change their own names and if so, what to, followed by them getting back on topic and finishing off the talk by speaking about offensive pronouns, gender fluidity, how/if gender should play a role in contact sports (such as MMA), the treatment of women, how far society has come in the last 30 years and much more!
In part 1 (released last week), Steve detailed what it was like growing up gay in the 80s and when/how he realised he wasn’t heterosexual (when at that time it wasn’t discussed at all), bullying & acceptance, Steve’s experiences in college and his coming out story to both his college friends and his parents and being worried about reputation/acceptance when doing so.
As well as the above, sexism, racism, bigotry, prejudice, equality, Brighton and “The Gay Agenda” are all also mentioned, so in case you missed it, be sure to check part 1 out!
The last episode of GCC had the return of our favourite palaeontologist/author Wayne Telford, along with Josh (the co-host of “Science, But Simple”), where they discuss religion & faith, along with some crazy land, water and extinct animals in another science-y addition of Genuine Chit-Chat!

Amazing animals, religion & faith (along with street preaching), misconceptions of the velociraptor and so much more is discussed this week on Genuine Chit-Chat!
Following on from last week’s return of our favourite palaeontologist/author Wayne Telford, along with Josh (the co-host of “Science, But Simple”), although this episode delves into different topical territory.
Religion & faith are discussed, as well as morality of religion, Josh, Wayne & Mike then each discuss their views on consciousness and the afterlife, followed by some notable animals, including water-dwelling, land-dwelling and extinct creatures - so anyone who’s interested in learning about some cool new animals and some of the crazy things they do, this podcast will be right up your street!
Last week they discussed what superpowers would be the most ideal to use in a realistic (less vigilante-like) sense and which ones they think they’d get if they were a fictional character. As well as the above, they talk about human culling & utilitarianism, mentioning Thanos’ idea of balance and how, or if, it could work, followed by opinions on assisted suicide, “anti-natalism”, abortion and stem-cells.
Last week was technically part 1 of this chat, but we are having them as two separate podcast episodes as each part is strong enough to be its own standalone episode (we think)!

This week marks the return of our favourite palaeontologist/author Wayne Telford, along with Josh (the co-host of “Science, But Simple”), discussing what superpowers would be the most ideal to use in a realistic (less vigilante-like) sense and which ones they think they’d get if they were a fictional character.
As well as the above, a fairly detailed discussion on human culling & utilitarianism takes reigns halfway through the talk, mentioning Thanos’ idea of balance and how, or if, it could work, followed by opinions on assisted suicide, “anti-natalism”, abortion and stem-cells.
Next week will technically be a part 2 of this chat, but we are having them as two separate podcast episodes as the second half of the chat delves into different topical territory, where religion & faith and palaeontology are discussed, as well as Josh, Wayne & Mike’s favourite water-dwelling, land-dwelling and extinct creatures, so anyone who’s interested in learning about some cool new animals and some of the crazy things they do, be sure to return!
